It is a privilege to be part of the 32 wonderful artist of the International Forum and a big thank you to the Goethe Institut and the Theatertreffen for this wonderful experience and letting the Asian Prince (yes, that is me!) be part of this year’s program out of 602 applicants. I have a strong feeling that this is just a start of interesting exchange and maybe creating collaborations would be the next step to continue this theater of togetherness that I have experienced. I want to share more, do more, and create wonderful spaces for collaboration towards our shared future of performing arts in Germany and the Philippines and maybe the world. (Why not?! Let’s dream big TOGETHER!)
As a participant coming from the Philippines, the farthest country from Germany for this year’s forum, I am happy to be able to meet German artists and artists from different parts of the world. In the coming years, I want to explore and collaborate more with German artists and artist from the forum. Creating, building, and imagining new performance works that are anchored in trust, friendship, and solidarity.
