The Scenius Pro’s latest experimental work of scene studies about how we perceive our insurmountable human flaws, how we survive this lonely and absurd life. It is a story of how to accept our fate. Our life-long dealings with our demon, braving to face darkness and surviving its trap as we move on with our lives.
Maikling Dasal, Mahabang Gabi evolves on the story of three Filipino women drug mules who risked their lives just to earn for a living. Inspired by true events, the play provides a deeper spectrum on the emotional and psychological trauma of the drug courier.
The play was written during the time when three Filipino OFW was sentenced to death in China in 2011. It also serves as a prayer of deliverance for more than 200 drug related cases by Filipino drug mules and courier outside the country.
The play was awarded as “Pluma ng Bahaghari” (Best Original Script) and “Gintung Balangay”(Audience Choice Award) from UP Theater Council Play Festival 2014.
